With the cacophony of dating advice floating around from myriad self-proclaimed dating gurus and coaches, it is often difficult to glean helpful dating tips out of the abundance of tripe and cliches. A good source worth listening to is Steven Ward who hosts VH1’s hit shows Tough Love and Tough Love Couples. Steven attempts to tackle the toughest of dating and relationship issues, and after several seasons of dealing with a wide array of dysfunctional couples he has developed a deep level of insight into dating and relationships.

Ward believes that women should watch a man closely during the first date. Does he seem easily distracted? Is he constantly letting his eyes diverge from you and wander around the room? If so, these are telltale signs that he’s not interested in you, and it is time to move on. Ward offers women further insight on what guys truly find attractive — and it might surprise you. Despite male stereotypes, Ward believes men are turned on by a woman’s body language and posture — he advises you keep your chin up and smile often exuding confidence and an optimistic outlook on life.

He also shares the “double look” trick with his female fans — after being spied glancing at a guy, look away and then quickly look back at him only to turn away quickly again. Ward asserts this move ensnares men, and they feel compelled to continue looking in your direction until you finally return the stare once again. The more weapons like this in your arsenal translates to better odds of snagging the guy of your dreams.
