  • There are flexible membership options.
  • The website is straightforward and easy to use.

The Full Story:

There are certainly no shortage of social networking sites and dating sites cropping up on the Internet these days. Unlike many of them, Friendfinder is no-nonsense and laser-focused on helping you to meet people–whether for friendship, romance, or casual dating. The site also encourages comments and feedback from its members, so it can provide better service going forward.

Since this social networking and dating site requires identity confirmation, I know that I am dealing with real people on the site and not just a bunch of fake accounts. If anyone is found abusing the site or harassing other members, Friendfinder will contact the Internet Service Provider of the concerned member so he or she can be prohibited from using the site. The safety and comfort of its users is Friendfinder’s paramount concern.

Browsing for potential friends and romantic dates on the site is easy, with its comprehensive search capabilities. And it really is a global site: I trawled through listings in the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, and even Asia. I was surprised to discover that there was a Friendfinder member matching my search filter in almost every country. In the Middle East for example, Bahrain has more than 4,000 listings, and in South America, Colombia has more than 2,700 member listings. The possibility of finding new friends–even romantic partners–on are great indeed. features and services

As is typical of many dating and social networking sites, the most popular features at Friendfinder are its chat, mail, and instant messaging services. Unusually, chatting and sending messages are standard services offered by this website, available even to those with free memberships. Members are also encouraged to “build out” their profiles, so that friends at the site will get to know more about them. As a member I can post photos, post videos, and even record voice intros to make my profile more interesting to my friends and potential mates.

The Get Local feature allows me to explore which groups are near my location or which articles are submitted by members located within my location. If I want to make friends who are located in the same city or locality that I reside in, I can just click on the Get Local button, and find groups which are situated not too far from me. It’s a great shortcut. If I want to make friends from countries on the other side of the world however, I can just browse myself.

Value for money

There are many free social sites on the web, but Friendfinder offers you excellent value, whether you settle for the free membership or a upgrade to paid account. As for the standard or free membership, you won’t be required to pay anything, but you are still able to chat with your friends, send messages, and browse the profiles of other members. Nonetheless, the premium membership affords you a range of features and services not available with the free membership. With my gold membership for example, I can quickly search other members, have access to their full-sized photos, and view other members’ photos without limit. Gold membership also provides unlimited access to viewing the profiles of other members, and to instant telephone and email technical support whenever needed.

For the free membership, emails are viewable only for 30 days, while for the silver membership, emails stay in your inbox for 60 days. For the gold membership, emails can be viewable for up to 120 days.

Website design and layout

As you can tell from this image, the site is simple to navigate, easy to use, and well designed, Friendfinder is a social networking and online dating site in one. I can immediately see upon logging in whether I have any new messages to read or if someone has just “winked” at me. I can also see how many members are online at any given time, or if some of my friends are online as well.

Most importantly, Friendfinder goes out of its way to make your time on the site memorable. I got great value for my money on this fun and exciting online dating website–try it for yourself!

I agree. The site in terms of functionality and user-friendliness, hands down. I actually recommended this site to my friends and they liked it very much.

  5. Serial Says:

How much does it cost for the gold membership? You think it’s worth it?

    • Ron Says:

No, except you can do next to nothing now without a Silver or Gold membership… except take part in chatrooms and webcam shows.

      • Ron Says:

With a free membership, you cannot email or see any profiles! I was wrong about the webcam shows — FriendFinder doesn’t even have them. And a Gold membership costs a whopping $37 (CAD)/month. Definitely not worth it. Friendfinder really doesn’t have very many members nor as much functionality compared to the other much cheaper sites.

A nicely written piece, informative, coherent and intelligently put forward, respect due for a welcome relief from the usual dross I find on the internet, I will be watching out for more of your posts.

FriendFinder has over a dozen websites — including many sexual ones as well, with AdultFriendFinder. It also runs Penthouse magazine! Or I should say that Penthouse runs them.

I used to be happy with them, as I found my wife on AsiaFriendFinder… but that was 8 years ago and before Penthouse bought them.

Without any warning, they can delete your account!!! So, take heed. It happened to me, just because I did something in a webcam broadcast that they didn’t like. I worked hard, developing a network of 50+ friends with them over 3+ years — and without warning, they narrow-minded and selfishly deleted my account.

They don’t even have the courtesy to warn me or tell me… Just one day I go to log on and my login fails. At first I thought their system was down, so I created a second account and that one worked.

And after they deleted my account, they have the nerve to tell members that search for me that I removed my account…. a blatant lie.

Hey everyone, greetings from New York. This is a helpful blog. I’m wondering if you have any advice about staying out of the friend zone with girls? I’m really tired of women telling me they just want to be friends. Maybe I’m being too nice?
